How much will I make when I sell a book through Thor?
You make the difference between 50% of the retail cost and the production cost. Example : 256 page - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 - 6x9 Paperback Book - $14.95 Retail Price
Retail = $14.95 minus 50%= $7.48 minus production cost ($.90 plus $.013 per page= $4.23)
= $3.25ea PROFIT
If you raise the retail price to 19.95 your profit works out as:
Retail=$19.95 minus 50%= $9.98 minus production cost ($4.23) = $5.75ea PROFIT
As an unjacketed hardcover book the formula remains the same although the production cost is different. Using the 256 page example the numbers work out as:
Retail= $24.95 minus 50%=$12.48 minus production cost ($6.00 plus $.013/page= $9.33)
= $3.15ea PROFIT
If you raise the retail price to $29.95 your profit works out as:
Retail= $29.95 minus 50% = $14.48 minus production cost ($9.33) = $5.15 PROFIT
REMEMBER: You have 100% control over the retail price
